SharePoint archiving products:

Enterprise Archiving for SharePoint (EAS)

EAS enables SharePoint content to be archived to an ECM system. Once archived to your ECM system, content can be protected and managed by ECM applications (e.g. records management). EAS offers a number of features to meet your requirements, including:

  • Interactive archiving – SharePoint users can manually select, profile and protect specific documents
  • Automated archiving – the right content is always archived, based on content types, schedules, workflow events, or metadata-triggers
  • Move, copy, synchronize, or link – content archived from SharePoint can be duplicated, or synchronized, or moved and replaced with SharePoint link pointing back to the archived document or record
  • Records Management and retention support – content can be assigned retention policies at the point of archiving
  • State-based archiving – automate specific archiving actions

Synchronize Express

Synchronize Express automatically replicates and synchronizes content between SharePoint and ECM systems. Synchronize Express provides "transparent synchronizing" – admins configure and map document libraries or folders between SharePoint and external ECM systems. Once mapped, users simply place content into a source folder, and content is automatically replicated into a corresponding destination folder or document library. Updates to the original content are automatically pushed out to the synchronized copy.

Why Synchronize Express is the right product for SharePoint synchronization:

  • Synchronization can be configured in minutes
  • No training needed for users
  • Automate specific synchronization actions
  • Content can either be synchronized or copied
  • Advanced mapping rules can easily be extended with EAS
